BIO

Beth (Elizabeth) Ljung has nearly two decades of clinical experience as a doctor of physical therapy.  She graduated with a Doctor’s in Physical Therapy from University of Maryland in 2007 following a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from University of Maryland College Park. After receiving her doctorate, she has worked at multiple premier inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation facilities on the east coast. She has specialized in the comprehensive treatment of patients with acute and chronic orthopedic injuries as well as neurological deficits including but not limited to: acquired brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's Disease.

She combines her love of treating complex neurological conditions with specialties in sports related and chronic orthopedic conditions such as advanced prosthetic rehabilitation, chronic pain and motor control deficits, forming an inclusive, personalized and holistic approach to therapy.  Utilizing biomechanical assessment of movement patterns that lead to injury in addition to a strong emphasis on evidence based practice and manual therapy, she develops unique treatment plans for her patients.

Identifying a need for services for patients with higher level goals, prolonged therapy needs and a necessity for a more patient focused one on one treatment environment, Beth envisioned and created her private practice outpatient therapy vision, District Physical Therapy.
